What are multifocal contact lenses?
Multifocal contact lenses come in two types of lens material- soft and rigid gas permeable. These lenses are designed for day time wearing. The soft ones are the lenses that can be worn on a part-time basis, which makes them a great choice for weekends and other occasions. For convenience, these lenses can also be worn throughout the day and then discarded at night after usage. This removes the headache of handling the lenses with care. But the most commonly used contact lens are the GP lenses, as they provide a sharp viewing power and come in differing lens powers for various viewing distances.

- Before you handle contacts, wash and rinse your hands with a mild soap. Make sure it doesn’t have perfumes, oils or lotions as they can leave a film on your hands. If they get on your lenses, your eyes could get irritated or your vision might be blurry. Dry your hands with a clean, lint-free towel before handling the lenses.
- Never put tap water to clean your lenses. Even distilled water can be home to nasty little bugs that can cause an infection or hurt your vision.
- Clean each contact this way: Rub it gently with your index finger on the palm of your other hand. Lightly rubbing your contact removes surface buildup.
